In this 3 day interactive countertop workshop each student will learn the cutting edge technology of the Granicrete™ and AuraStone™ finishing systems. This workshop is like nothing you’ve ever experienced, finally there is an answer for the decorative artist and/or concrete artisan who has been waiting for quality countertop overlay systems. You will learn, in detail, proper substrate and surface preparation and the application of the Granicrete™ and AuraStone™ overlay systems. These uniquely engineered modified Portland cement products go directly over any substrate you could imagine, without the need of an expensive basecoat, making these processes both cost effective and efficient.   These products are more durable than concrete and natural stone and easier to maintain.

Although this class is designed for the professional installer, creative Do-It-Yourselfers are welcome.  The cost of the class and products for your project are less expensive than your alternatives and you have the joy of creating your own unique finishes.

You will learn:
• Proper substrate preparation
• Essential tape and drape of your project space

• Properties and application of the Granicrete & Aurastone™ Finish Blend Overlay Systems
• Interactive Coloration with multiple coloring systems
• Properties of colorant systems
• Creating smooth, chiseled and custom countertop edges
• Easy marble and granite techniques using simple tools
• Topcoat Systems

Day 1: Learn, in detail, proper substrate preparation, masking procedures, smooth and chiseled edges, and the application of the Granicrete & AuraStone™ overlay systems. These products have been engineered to go directly over any substrate you could imagine, without the need of an expensive basecoat, making the process both cost effective and efficient.

Day 2: The magic begins! Learn the step-by-step creation of realistic looking marble and granite finishes that will truly "fool the eye"!

Day 3: Continue to "build" your finishes and learn the finishing processes that create looks from "honed" flat finishes to glossy shine.  Once all steps are properly applied, your countertop samples will be nearly three times harder than normal concrete!

• All tools and materials will be provided but you are free to bring your favorite tools. Dress to get dirty.

• Continental breakfast, lunches and snacks are included in the class fee.
